send us a brief description (less than 150 words or so). Include location,
frequency, time of broadcast, name of host, and something about
the focus of the show. Send it on station letterhead to: Nelson the

Carbondale, IL
“Celtic Connections” is a weekly hour of music from the Celtic traditions, heard on 96 public radio stations in 23 states.
The program is produced in the studios of WSIU-FM at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and is hosted by Bryan Kelso Crow,
whistle and flute player with local Celtic band the Dorians. Listings include a monthly roundup of new releases,
programs spotlighting a particular musician or band, and original concert recordings of groups and singers such as Old Blind Dogs,
Altan, Cherish the Ladies, Bohola, Martin Carthy, Andy Irvine, Cathie Ryan, and Karan Casey.
Interview guests have included Mary Black, Paddy Moloney, Riverdance composer Bill Whelan, uilleann piper Mick O’Brien,
Scottish singer Jim Malcolm, Irish poet Thomas Kinsella, and many more. If you would like to encourage your local
public radio station to start carrying “Celtic Connections” (available free of charge), more information about the program
