The question has come up more than once among the many fans of her music: whatever happened to Linda Thompson? From the early 70s through the early 80s she was a major force in English folk-rock as the woman who gave voice and presence to the songs of her then husband, Richard Thompson, collaborating on a string of albums that included at least a couple of the genre's all-time best. Within a few years of the couple's separation in 1982, though, she seemed to have vanished.
